Pile on the Miles

I’m nothing if not a sucker for challenges.  I participate in virtual KALs (knit-alongs) and was psyched when I started to see virtual challenges among the running community.

My fave to date has been Juneathon, which as an English virtual event involves more runners across the pond, but was still great fun. It was especially motivating to get out there and run as the weather over there was truly awful in June, so I couldn’t help but lace up and get out there.

Since Juneathon, I’ve been counting the days til Janathon (Juneathon’s winter sister), but recently, found Pile on the Miles–a US-based event for November!

POTM is slightly different than June/Janathon in that there are goals and prizes/give-aways.  June/Janathon was more about the “get out there and do something everyday.”  Maybe the difference speaks to the difference between the US/Britain?  I’m not going to go there.  But anyways, I’m in.  Since I’m still not sure of what’s going on with my hip (and I don’t want to screw up participating in Janathon), I’ve set 70 miles as my goal for the month.
